Frank’s engine is being rebuilt, and should be re-installed next week. The block is being rebored, new pistons, new injectors, water cooler, oil cooler, and lots more new stuff fitted and the engine installed on new mounts.
The lifelines are fitted, so Geoff and I added the newly-renamed dodgers from Kemps. Once the rigging is fine tuned, we can focus on the rest of the stuff – electrics, power generation, internet connectivity, new SOLAS raft, heads holding tank update. etc etc.
We need to get some sailing time in! But progress is being made.

Women shop. Men buy. No Louis Vuitton, which is what most people buy in Tokyo, but far more valuable. A dab of Eau d’Yanmar behind the ears will finish the day perfectly!

Sailing With Frank – The Trailer
I put this quick edit video together from the sail to Gosport in 2013, September 23rd to October 3rd. Just a teaser for the video of Sailing with Frank, which will record this journey.
For Geoff and I, this is as much a tribute to our Fathers as it is a personal adventure.
Geoff and I are at the ARC seminar in Guildford.
A great opportunity to get fully briefed and prepared for the ARC, the seminar runs until Sunday afternoon, will wall-to-wall presentations. It will be interesting to meet the different crews and World Cruising staff.
We already know Jerry The Rigger from the Marina at Gosport.

The 1998 38hp Yanmar 3j engine is now out of Frank and in EYS’ workshop for servicing.
The engine starts first time, or at least always has until now, but is in need of some tlc. If it lasts another 10 years, I will be happy, so it is worth the effort of getting it checked over.
